I've lived in the city of Olympia for 30 years now and it just keeps getting worse. The city council does nothing and the court is more than useless. The taxes are high and the homeless are out of control.
I got pulled over for speeding having never driven in Olympia. I blew under the legal limit and despite not getting a DUI, they made me take an addiction class and get an interlock device. For 1 beer and blowing a .06. I was military and they wanted that money.
Be careful if you park downtown Olympia cause the 15 mins of free parking is a lie. They have a deputy doofy the dummy giving out tickets during the free 15 mins. Dont bother constesting it either, they still want their money. Apparently the city of Olympia is hard up for money like the state. I provided all documentation showing his receipt of purchase at a local business and the ticket was given minute after his purchase and then the car was gone. Way to siphon money out the state residents.
