Really enjoyable trail with a lot elevation up and down. The only downside is that I was bitten by a Lonestar tick in May 2025. I heard that there are a lot of ticks on this trail, so just be careful and check yourself. I will come back and walk it in the winter.
Great place for an instant reset from everyday stress! Easy to access, plenty of parking, picnic sites, hiking and biking trail. Clean indoor bathrooms on site. No camping this year. We bought the annual state park day entry pass for $75.
A pleasant 1-2 hour hike/walk through the woods. I'd recommend a sturdy pair of waterproof hiking boots with ankle support (high-tops) as there are some streams to pass over and your feet may find their way into it. The normal loop only takes about an hour to complete, but if you head North at the fork at the top of the loop and then back it'll take about 2 hours in total.
Love this part of Patapsco Valley State Park. Easy to access, beautiful, lots of diversity in plants, elevation, scenery. Beauty at it's best!!
