A beautiful autumn morning. Unfortunately hard to see due to “frosted” glass as a result of restoration. Just had the sashes repaired and new storms made. The proposal was very misleading. When all the work was completed I was handed a bill for an additional $3,400. When I questioned why Dave said the quote didn’t cover the work done on the sashes???? He never said otherwise so I was lead to believe the quote covered the complete job. Shame on me for assuming, especially when things weren’t spelled out initially. The quality... read more
We had Olde Window Restorers craft custom wooden storm windows (some sort of 50-year wood product) for our 1790 home to replace the nasty aluminum storms that were 30 years old. What a difference to the beauty of our house! We had a couple of super crooked windows that needed custom measuring a few times, but the results are gorgeous. I recently had all of the original wooden windows restored in my 100 year old house and I couldn’t be happier with the result. For years I’ve lived with windows that I either couldn’t open or needed to be held open with a stick or windows with broken glass and glaze crumbling out of them. Alden and the team were great to work with. Everybody was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable.
