Visit the first hand dug mine from 1916. Wear a hard hat and go through the mine, the museum and the underground home. Have fun going in the noodling pits after your tour to look for opals. A souvenir and jewellery shop is also available after your visit. We offer tours in 14 different languages.

Great experience and friendly service.
You can do a self-guided tour of the mine for $35 as a family. You'll be given a map with information and a helmet if you wish. Children can dig in the open pits, but they'll only find white opal chips. There's a lot to see and discover in the mine, but not as good as Tom's guided working mine tour.
Very cool place, so much history and experience learned!
Interesting mine education and gift shop.
Great free camp and excellent mining experience museum. Loved our stop here. It’s within walking distance to the big winch restaurant, bar and tourist attraction.
