Great subs! Loved the steak and cheese and Italian subs. The bread on all the subs was super fresh, fluffy, and delicious. The potato salad is a really nice recipe, and they have a great selection of sodas, including celery soda! The salad was super fresh, and the staff was really friendly and accommodating. We're just through to visit, but I'd happily come back here next time we're nearby!
Old School Subs has quickly become my new go-to spot in Black Mountain. This is one of the best subs I’ve had in years. The ingredients are fresh, the sandwiches are generously made, and you can tell they care about quality. What really stands out is that this is a locally owned business that delivers both great food and friendly service. It’s the kind of place that reminds you why small, independent restaurants matter.
The sandwich was good but the service was rude. I witnessed the man in front of me get a wrong order, and instead of offering to correct it the girl just said oh and told him the total. She seemed irritated to take my order. The sandwich I got was also nearly $17 with a side, but the “side” was a tiny cup of cole slaw. The sandwich tasted good but was by no means a $17 sub. I don’t need a heaping portion as a side either but it was literally a sauce cup. Overall ok food but weird experience.
The bread is homemade, so soft. Just a great sandwich. Thank you 😊
