The origins of the Old Port Lobster Shack actually arose serendipitously through a fated meeting resulting from a bumped plane ride. Paul Blatt, a friend of the Old Port Lobster Shack's owner, Russell Deutsch, sat next to a woman named Lynn Brown on a plane ride to Washington D.C. The two hit it off and exchanged numbers. That night, when Paul got home, he called Russell and told him "I just met your future wife.

This place is awesome - lots of lobster. I will be back.
Awesome Hearty Lobster Rolls – I *heart* their lobster rolls. If this place is not that far from my work I would come here for a quick lunch at least once a week. The hearty lobster roll was so delicious. There were not much seasoning or sauce so you could really taste the lobster meat in every bite. As far as I could tell the ingredients were all pretty fresh. I also tried the clam chowder but it didn't leave much of an impression.
Maine Lobsters in Redwood City Having grown up in New England I was skeptical about a Lobster Shack experience in Redwood City, but I'm happy to say it's the real deal. The Old Port Lobster Shack flies in fresh lobsters (and even Steamers!!!) from New England a couple times per week and have a few tanks in the restaurant. You order at the counter, sit at picnic tables with a roll of paper towels, and rip through your lobster. We had the two lobsters for $40 (regularly $22 each). The lobster meat was really good and fresh. Th... read more

lobster shack i've been here a couple of times with my friend. it gets really busy during lunch time so i suggest come early to get a spot to sit. they have a couple of table set up outside too, so you can enjoy the sun on hot days. the food here is pretty good, but i'd say is a bit over priced.
Alli C. The lobster roll was tasty, but its size was a bit disappointing. The portions of the other items on the menu were generous though. Our waitress raved about the bread pudding and how they use the special buns from their lobster rolls. We ordered it. We don't advise you follow suit unless you like really heavy and dense bread pudding. There was no hint of the custard at all. The restaurant can do with a new recipe.
great lobsta rolls The food is great, true New England style, although the prices are higher due to having to fly the fresh lobster out. Very family friendly and casual with dining on picnic tables. The lobster rolls are both good, but the naked roll - with all the extras on the side - is my favorite.
