Our experience was top notch. We recently lost our hay supplier whose quality of hay was diminishing over the last several deliveries; rocky, moldy, and very inconsistent. Our horses were reluctant to eat it. Years ago The Old Dominion was our supplier so we decided to return. Mike took time out of his day to escort us through his warehouse explain to great detail his operation. Very convenient, great selection and extremely nice people. And the bunnies seem to like the Timothy grass. Just switched over to Tucker Milling rabbit feed. They are eating it up, and the young are growing fast on mama’s milk.
I decided to give a local hay seller a try because 1) I’m not in a place like NYC, 2) something had to be more economical than paying $30-64 for a _10-20 pound_ box of hay, and 3) I didn’t live THAT far from agriculture. I drove over, and checked them out after some email exchanges, and picked up a few things for my 4 bunnies. 2 BALES were under $20/ EACH, and they’ve lasted about 6-8 month (I’ve fostered a few buns here and there, too). Amazing animal knowledge. If you ever have any questions the owner is an amazing person to talk too. He can breakdown all the proteins in each type of hay. He will always give you the truth. The staff are also great. The young men always load the hay very well
