Specialties: We offer two float trips at Old Cove Canoe both start up stream and float back to your car. The Short float is 4.5 miles. The long float is 9.5 miles and last 5-6 hours minimum and must arrive before 11:00am. We have plenty of gravel bars and bluffs to enjoy along the way. Great staff, polite and very helpful. Easy to get there. Good parking and a quick bus ride to the drop-in point. Always a nice float. We love the kayaks but some groups prefer the rafts. Lots of good places to pull over for lunch on the bank. Love floating back to the camp where my car is parked. Can’t say enough about how nice and helpful the guys are here! My favorite place.
We took a group of middle school students from church on a float trip on a Friday morning. Our flotilla had 3 large rafts and our trip down the river took almost 4 hours, which included a 30-40 minute lunch stop on a gravel bar. The river was calm, river traffic was light, and we had zero issues with other floaters. The entire staff was courteous, professional, and excited to have us out on the river. This was a great experience for our students and I hope we can return again.
Such a fantastic experience! If you want a quiet float, no partying or obnoxiousness, definitely come here.
Super great experience, they were so kind and understanding. I will be back eventually! The only reason it’s not 5 stars is because you have to be back by 5pm, so towards the end of the long float it felt like a time crunch, while other floats its 7pm. So you can comfortably float the entire float and have time to stop. That was my only negative, but the company was SOOO kind and wonderful I will be back despite the 5pm just probably on a short float because I personally prefer to stop often and swim.
Always a great float. The staff is great and helpful getting you on the float and when you finish. Highly recommend
