This home was built, by Elisha W. Hartley, between 1886 and 1889 for his wife, Mamie Chrisman, great niece of the town's founding father, Mathias Chrisman. Architects who have stayed at the Inn have agreed that the structure is a "Prairie Foursquare," designed by the Chicago Architect Group which, included Frank Lloyd Wright. Large, oak-paneled foyer, art glass windows, staircase and abundance of oak artwork reflect the design of this period. As our guest, you may expect 21st-Century Conveniences with 19th-Century Elegance.

Wonderful spot, great service and employees. Skip staying at a chain hotel and just stay here. Frostops is nearby and if you're looking for a place to day for a quick bite, it's perfect.
The building looks more like an old home than it does a hotel. I did not go inside.
