Very terrible experience taking my father there. It was a slow Monday and he was kept in the waiting room for over three hours. Place has gone downhill since KU has taken over
AVOID THIS HOSPITAL. - Rude staff - care tech who was taking over someone who went to break- she was outside the room as she was sucked into her phone and refused to help someone who was slouched over. Didn’t even get him help where they could help him sit up straight. The family had to do it. - Lied NUMEROUS times. Claim there was a bed bug but how? They gave the man a shower the other day. - the staff says one thing but then says another thing. After this whole experience, I’m refusing to ever come back here.
The doctors and staff here are awesome. We always get quick service whether it’s in the ER, GI, lab, or cardiology. The only reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is because this place is depressing. There need to be places for family members to get respite. We are a children’s mercy family and it’s so nice to have outdoor walking paths, a beautiful garden, and a playground to escape the mental turmoil that a hospital brings. I was recently hospitalized for 5 days and it was the worst experience of my life, one of my nurses absolutely refused to help me despite my numerous requests and my family’s multiple requests for her to contact the doctor to try and get my pain under control she ignored our requests and left me to suffer in excruciating pain for 48 hours, that same night I pushed my call light over 8 times because I needed to use the restroom but had a bed alarm on, my nurse completely ignored me and I had to hold my urine in until after 7 ... read more
I had no issues with Olathe Med BEFORE KU took over. Wait times are HOURS long and nothing is done even in the most serious cases. A woman had a seizure in the waiting room right in front of me while I was actively having an allergic reaction to something I ate. I would have 0 stars of it wasn’t for the great staff. The higher ups need to step down and fix the basics before improvement can happen
