I saw Dr Thai a few years ago, roughly after lockdown had ended. Her approach to therapy was rather different compared to the therapists I have met and would leave me unsatisfied in every session. There was a time where I shared with her that I was unsure what I wanted to do in university and decided to take a gap year, but she got rather overly-concerned about it and contacted my parents to make sure I went to university. Unhelpful and dismissive. Also charged one of my only 6 mental health care plan sessions despite me cancelling with heaps of notice.
I have just experienced a series of traumatic events. I came to Dr Thai to seek for a counselling service in order to alleviate my critical symptoms of the aftermath. However, instead of caring and listening, she introduced me into complex theories of psychology and started to explain how these theories work. I don't think she was any helpful. Don’t listen to these two negative reviews. I’ve had a mental health history a few years, got back into my normal routine and moved on with life. Started to feel the same symptoms as before so I came to Dr Thai for counselling. I would agree that she would not be suitable for someone going through mental health but someone who can help provide a solution for someone who has recovered, getting back on track. 5 stars
