It is sad that a surgeon would deny a knee replacement to a person who is over the bmi that is not the same for black people. It is weight discrimination among other things (race, disability, insurance type etc.) I had a previous knee replacement through a different hospital and my weight was the same.

My sister had kneecap surgery. 3 weeks after they needed to go back in and put a plate over kneecap. They were short on staff when my wife had her second hip replacement. They left her sitting in her own excrement for hours after the anesthesia wore off. They had no cleaned rooms for her to convales in, and they could not find anyone to give her pain meds. She suffered for hours. The nurses did their best, but they were very short on staff.
