It's a big ol' airport, but you can get pretty much anywhere from here. And with all the traffic on the roads, you'll be in New York before your ride gets back to the Loop :-)
The place needs better labels on its elevator buttons as they currently offer no clue as to the floor you need. EG: customers have written helpful text like "trains" next to the mysterious UL button.
Allow time for long security lines

awesome steak sandwich at the airport bar & grill
TSA super slow on Saturdays. During the week they are much better.
You'll find the only free WiFi by the Hilton. From Terminal 2, take the escalator down, and walk till you see the Hilton corridor, leading to the lobby. Connect to attwifi for free!
