Yes, the staff was nice and helpful though ultimately court reporters charge a lot for trial transcripts, which is hard on defendants, journalists, and democracy. We need a new way to pay court reporters. One idea is to increase their salaries to cover the cost of making transcripts. Another option is for courts to provide the training, equipment, and materials they need.
