After a year with my Victron system, I learned that the information I was given about battery safety was not accurate. I was told the Lynx Smart BMS “power button” could replace mechanical battery cut-off switches. It cannot. Victron's own documentation states that the BMS contactor is a secondary safety system, not a substitute for a manual disconnect. I contracted this company last year to install a Victron Energy system in my Airstream. During the planning stage I was told that master mechanical cut off switches for each of the four batteries were optional because the Smart BMS has its own power switch. After living with the system for a year and learning more about it, I discovered this was not accurate. The Smart BMS power button is not a substitute for proper mechanical cut offs. Ed has a deep wealth of knowledge and experience regarding Victron products and their deployments. And, the full range of other equipment and system designs for providing power to RVs (solar, DC-DC from the TV, alternator/inverter charging from the TV, etc.). He knows what's he's doing and knows how to do it right!
