My daughter has attended the YMCA O’Fallon day camp for the past 3 years without any major issues…until last week. On Thursday, while she was dancing to some music being played, two other kids in her group pretended to shoot guns at her and told her to sit down. Staff was helpful and fellow water aerobics class members were friendly and welcoming! This was my first time visiting this location! Update: I love the water aerobics classes. DJ is an awesome instructor!

If I could give no stars for this day camp, I would. My grandson attended this camp and forgot his water one day when there were heat advisories. They never called his parents who would have immediately made sure he had water. The staff did not supply water and my grandson was crying and parched when picked up. This was such a serious mistake for the YMCA to make in keeping their campers safe. I cannot express how horrified I am with how he was treated. He is 7 years old. Needless to say, he never returned and never will.

No matter what, DO NOT send your kids to their camp. They denied my son easy access to water on a day with extreme heat, leaving him dehydrated and distressed. Their lack of care or concern for the wellbeing of kids was striking. They enroll way too many kids and are not able to provide proper care. Their camps are a disaster waiting to happen.
