Do not come here with an infant. Was almost strip searched at the door with our infant who had a fever and then they had poor sanitary when it came to labs. The test results that come back will not be valid and you will have to get your babies blood redrawn and retested at another facility for accurate results and diagnosis. My son tested positive for staph due to contamination of the blood sample because the nurses laid the needle on the bed before placing it in the culture bottle and they didn’t clean the culture bottle in... read more
I’m an RN myself and this was a poor experience of an ER for my daughter with complex needs. The nurses are LAZY! They sit there and talk about other patients loudly. NOT ONCE DID HER NURSE COME IN AND ROUND ON HER. We were just there sitting there waiting. I asked for my daughter some Tylenol because she was in pain and was told “our Pyxis is down.” So what? Lazy lazy lazy bunch of doctors. No excuse !! Very unprofessional doctor's who sit on their butts an look stupid at you Not even a greeting . Instead of taking care of their patients . I am a nurse and have been in the medical field since 2008, therefore I have really high standards for the care my family and myself receive. While I understand fluctuations in census and acuity can alter delivery of care, I had the best experience tonight after my toddler appeared to have maybe broken her arm. We initially went to another pediatric ER and it was chaos. Decided to go to Ochsner Main Pediatric ER, where we had a fabulous experience last year when same toddler was admitted for RSV.
