The triage process was a bit confusing with a dozen people waiting just to check in, sitting in chairs. A security person eventually came and told me I was behind the guy in the blue shirt, so just go after him (not necessary to move seats as one other person said, just know who you’re after). I just went in twice, in the span of 4 days because my throat felt like it was closing up and in so much pain. I couldn't eat, drink or swallow my spit. They sent me home both times saying I just had a bad cold. I knew something wasnt right so I drove myself to courtenay emergency. They put me in a room for the entire day on iv antibiotics and pain meds/fluids, because it turned out I had a gigantic absess on my tonsil. Was forced to sit for hours upon hours with an open bleeding gash in my mouth, while people with sprains were looked at first. huge lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms, having overflowing bins of tissue and just overall filth. Additionally, the lady at the front desk was pretty rude and impatient over simple questioning. If you have the ability, make the trip to any other hospital/care facility, as you’ll be treated much better elsewhere
