I gave a mid-star review because I believe this psychologist is not extremely trauma informed and possibly could benefit from cultural competency and compassion resources to further her education. I was told I was “emotional” rather than highlighting my empathetic and sensitive nature. I did not self diagnoses but she said “she understood how I felt and didn’t want to dismiss that” while also not hearing me out on what I was saying. Tara Hawins is an uncompassionate and unfair provider who, despite having low-income networks in her bandwidth, excessively charge her patients for the initial Q&A and “no-show” visits that, in actuality, were visits she had failed to help her patients reschedule. She was rude and blunt when speaking to my mother who was trying to schedule the initial Q&A, and has consistently ignored our attempts to reach out to meet for the actual assessment. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Tara Hawkins! From the moment my son and I walked in she was welcoming and made us comfortable right away. She’s absolutely wonderful, kind, compassionate, honest, a great listener and genuinely cares. 5 stars all day every day!!
