Beautiful dining room, excellent food, hand crafted cocktails with fresh ingredients, homemade desserts the buttercake and peanut butter pie are a favorite. Our server Nick was excellent. Truly a 5 star dining experience
Although I believe this is one of the best new restaurants other than open in Sarasota in the last few years, our recent visit caused a bit of "gristle" not with the excellent 10oz filet which was great as expected, but for the uninspired and somewhat fishy seafood salads that my dining partners ordered. No one enjoys complaining during a meal and to make a "thing" about it and we didn't -but "upon further review" we are throwing a flag and marking off a fifteen yard penalty!
Ocean Prime is a great addition to the Sarasota scene. We love eating here and appreciate the quality, service and atmosphere. There are a couple of points they can fix. They charge $10 plus tip to valet park (not another good option) but lately the valet service has not been well manned. There tends to be a back up and confusion during these times. Had happy hour at the upper level bar - great spot for sunsets, people watching or if you want to watch sports on their TVs. The bartenders are excellent and very attentive. Leo in particular has to be their MVP - he’s a professional, everything you want in a bartender. Ocean Prime really does it right. The decor is exquisite-so tastefully done. We were there for lunch 1/18 sat down at 12:40 ordered drinks from the female bartender, while our drinks were being made we ordered are lunch from the male bartender. We waited 1 hour and 10 mins for our food! We could NOT enjoy are food like we wanted because we needed to leave so I had to ask for boxes:( I asked to speak with a manager to tell her of our experience and also that we never received a side we were all going to share.
