I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota, looking to upgrade from rear drum brakes to disc brakes. They installed an aftermarket kit and the travel was nearly to the floor and definitely not safe. They said it had to be a problem with the proportionate valve. After having it in their shop for three weeks, I got the truck back with no answers to the problem. Terrible experience!! I brought my 96 dodge ram in for a noise in the rear end. I replace the stock differential 4 yrs ago and put in an Eaton Detroit Truetrac with Motive 410 ring and pinion gears. They said they were very familiar with that differential because it is used in 4x4 jeeps a lot. They were very confident and acted all knowing about my problem. They checked out the rear end and said it looked fine and backlash was ok. They said I had bad rear axle bearings and needed to be replaced. They charged me $170 to diagn... read more
