I do wanna add another comment, because after the comment I left this facility wanted to leave me a Poor rating with my agency that I work for. You know after working for them and doing clinical at the facility for almost a year and never getting a poor rating. It amazes me how they left me a poor rating all the sudden after reading my review. The day that I had worked, I worked with a nurse and only one other aide on the hall. I personally worked and did clinical here at this facility for a year. I did 2 terms/ semesters of Clinical. I worked through Agency and picked up several shifts here. Some of the staff here is not very polite. They are very jealous and vindictive. On one hall there (East) has a total of 19 check and Change and eight feeders. The nurses would go out and smoke and sit behind the desk instead of helping. I will tell you I was at OAKWOOD as a patient after my cardiac surgery. The staff was pleasant and professional. I had Dr. To as the doctor and I was very happy with him. He worked with me to get home and I was very pleased. The staff is so respectful and caring. They made my stay away from home vestibule!

Dr. To is the medical director at Aventura at OAKWOOD Village. He is there at the facility 5days a week. It is rare to see a physician In LTC every day. He’s the best. He and the staff take very good care of the residents.

They treated my Dad wonderfully! They are compassionate and caring. I would recommend no other facility. My dad had demensia and they were very helpful and willing to work with our family. The staff are great, hard-working and very informative about his disease and concerns with his medical status. I would take any family members or friends that needed assisted living, nursing home, or independent living care.

Stay away from this facility. Our family chose Oakwood because they promised us it was an end of life facility where our Mother would be cared for for the rest of her life. After 2 years there in the independent living side she moved to the assisted living side and was asked to leave after 3 weeks. She went from self pay to the medicaid waiver when she moved. We were on vacation when we received the call. They gave us 30 minutes to get there or they were putting her on the street. They ended up sending our mother to a psychi... read more
