when i arrived to the store i got the vibe no one wanted me there. i asked one of the employees where some ammo was and he just shrugged to a corner of the store. when i arrived there i saw that the ammo (7.62x54R surplus) was .50 cents a bullet, when it should be priced at .17 cents... they did not have what i was looking fore and have a relatively small floor space. no employee treated me like i was worth the time and as such i will no longer be going to this store. there are many other stores with reasonable prices, and s... read more

oakwood guns has helped me so much in receiving guns I purchased out of state and need a broker to receive them as well as sell me a Sig Sauer hand gun.

I love the place. The FFL Fee is $45 cash which is cool, just call and ask they'll tell you. If you have questions about guns or ammo Steve can answer them. They are nice when you walk in (unless they are slammed, then it might take a minute to get to you-- but only an idiot wouldn't realize that) I have always been able to get ammo there, even when there was a major shortage and the price was always pretty close to what you could get elsewhere. The following is based on a few visits to the store and a brief meeting with the owner. As a graduate business student and avid lifelong firearms owner I feel the following review is fair to the owner of the store and potential consumers. First let me tell you what shopping at Oakwood is like. It is a small family owned store where you will be treated as a guest, not like a customer. The one and only time I walked in I saw a box of 550 .22 Federal that wal-Mart sells for about 20$ and he had it for $79.95. I get the climate for ammo is tough but the up sale and price gouging is sickening. When you see a local business participate in it then you know its time to go elsewhere.
