Oaktree did a great job on my clients very difficult file. Ben and Jenny took great care of my and my client. This was a file that was denied with another lender previously, but they were able to do it with no problems, and took a common sense approach to underwriting. They did not over condition our clients file, and were able to take the file from submission to closing within 20 days!
I recently closed a loan with Oaktree. Normally my experiences with them is pretty great. However, this time things were a bit rocky. I am not blaming the team Tyler & Jenny. They were great at getting things done. I think the issues more came from their investors. One of the issues that arised during the loan process I thought was addresses prior to loan submission. I’ve worked with Oaktree in the past and the reps have been good but my most recent experience with Matthew Cefalo really gave me the confidence I needed to close more non QM loans with them. Matthew was quick to respond, knowledgeable and got me a loan approved quickly and smoothly for a self employed borrower with less than 2 years on the job. Everything he said he would do, he did.
