Reasonably Adequate Nursing Home The Oaks of Houma seems to be about the average retirement home. People who live there seem to be content with the place, although it is costly, like most private homes. My grandmother lived here for a few years, and she said it wasn't totally terrible, but it wasn't a walk in the park either. I guess that can be said for all nursing homes, no matter what you pay or how fancy they are.
