Today is New Years Eve. Two of my closest friends died this past year; the experience leaves me with many feelings, and I promised myself that I would attempt to convey my gratitude to the staff at Oakmont of San Antonio Heights before the close of 2024. Loved it for the first few years as our Mom was more independent. Fast forward to now, 6 years later, and we are very disappointed in the level of care. And everything is a la carte and believe me they don't do anything extra they don't get paid for as our mother is needing additional check-in and hearing aid assistance as she's deaf in one ear and has trouble seating her hearing aid daily. Don’t recommend this facility, I worked here a while and management was horrible. They don’t care about staff. Most of the time we were understaffed which is so unfortunate for the residents.

They can't keep staff more than 2wks. The mamanagement i does not know how to manage people or employees. They are sarcastic and belittle and overwork them. Look hp jobs at oakmont. Residents dont stay. Now a staffer tried to give my loved one someone elses medication. Imagine if my loved one didn't know. No excuse. Now no vehile to take to their appointments as stiputated in rental agreement. They didnt keep up with tags and state rules. Now they just went in and told my lovedone wrong date by a new driver. Among assisted living facilities, this place has some of the best food I have ever tired. The staff is so helpful and accommodating. The current Chef and their team are doing a 5-star job.
