I wished this was not my family’s resting place. It does no good to talk with anyone about your concern at the office or headquarters.
Oaklawn is an older cemetery and use to be beautiful in it’s day. I have family buried there and had planned to be buried there myself. However, when I bought my plot I was told the fountain was going to be refurbished. That has never happened and as far as I’ve been told there are no plans to do anything to that eye sore. My mother in law was just buried there a couple of weeks ago. My wife went to the office to T/w Tracy about the arrangements for her burial in the first masolieum and she told her that the vase on both her father’s and mother’s site were gone. Her father was buried there in 2010 . Within a years time his vase was gone. She went to the office and was told it was probably vandalized. Bull. My father's vase was stolen off of his grave plot. I went to the office and complained and was told that I could purchase a replacement. Seriously?!? As much as my father paid for his final resting place and the cemetery doesn't keep up with this? They should have replaced it! It seems like the plots that had people regularly putting flowers out were stolen but the ones that have been there for 20,30+ years were left alone. Shocked is what I'll say to start with. How could a place that assured people that this area would be taken care of when they made their arrangements, not care. My parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, along with my friends parents and family members, high school friends and their parents/grandparents are buried in this cemetery.
