I visited Oaklawn Medical Group - Orthopedic Surgery in Marshall for a knee injury in mid-November. I couldn't fully extend my knee, could barely walk three weeks post-incident, and requested an MRI. Dr. Paul Aschmetat declined, saying to wait and scheduled a follow-up after the new year. My experience with Dr. Ashmatat and his medical assistant was underwhelming. The appointments felt hurried, and there was a significant lack of clear communication regarding my diagnosis and treatment plan. I felt the approach to my care was transactional rather than patient-centered. While other areas of the practice may be fine, I cannot recommend this specific team based on their lack of engagement.
