I recently spent time in the inpatient unit at Oaklawn, and I wanted to share my experience for anyone who may be considering getting help. The staff at Oaklawn are truly tremendous. Every person I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about the well-being of the patients. They took care of my family member twice, the first time I wasn’t completely impressed by the psychiatrist but the second time it was a new psychiatrist and he was amazing. The whole staff minus one was amazing with my family member who was struggling so much. I couldn’t have picked a better staff to care for him and there was even one nurse that went above and beyond. This place took my daughter under court order and kept her for a week, released her and the next day she was so manic that she wandered the streets because she was so afraid to go home. She ended up in jail and was released only to end up in a hospital out of town. WHY did they release her? I will not deal with Oaklawn psychiatry again.

These people saved my life!!!! I'll forever be greatful for my time at Oaklawn Psych! Wonderful staff and the environment is very peaceful and safe feeling!!! The whole team (day and night shift) deserve a big round of applause for the dedication they put into the care of every single patient!
