From a historical perspective, Oakland Cemetery is easily one of the most interesting in the state. It is a beautiful, peaceful plot of land right here in the city. I was lucky enough to work here at age 15-16, cutting grass during summer breaks. 25 years later, I still know some of the staff, and their dedication to keeping the grounds in excellent condition is truly unmatched. Nice cemetery. Lots of really old graves and a lot of new ones. If looking for a loved one's grave the office will provide u with a map which is very cool.

I was told my brothers internment was $1400 in 2022. That I had to have it paid, We had Graves we owned and were paid off worth $2495 in 2022. I only had $800 for his internment. So I had to give them my grave to which they agreed giving me a receipt paid in full for internment in lieu of me giving them graveside back. I found out they collected $700 more from Bradshaw from county buriel fund. I could of gave them $700 more not the grave or $1400 they told me.
