I can’t say enough about this place, Bob and Ruthann are the best! Breakfast was excellent! We will be back!
Great experience! From the tour of the house to the four course breakfasts, Ruth Ann & Bob were by far the best hosts we've had any any other B&B. The house has a lot of history and Bob was able to provide interesting insights given he grew up there. Be sure and visit surrounding cities (Lanesboro, Harmony, etc..) and visit some local Amish farms. Also loved the two local wineries including the largest one in MN (Four Daughters).

Big thanks to Ruth Ann for making my stay at Oakenwald Terrace amazig when I visited Rochester, Minnesota on Thursday. OT is an incredible property in Chatfield, MN, about 20 miles southeast of Rochester. It’s an 1890s-era inn that’s furnished with beautiful antique furniture and fixtures. Every room is like a museum, and each one is different from the next. It was very clean - there wasn’t a speck of dust to be seen. My wife and I stayed at Oakenwald recently. Our experience at Oakenwald will now be the standard by which we judge all other bed and breakfasts. The hosts were great - they gave us a full tour of the house upon our arrival, including the background story of all the rooms. The breakfast we ate there was delicious, and the fellow guests were pleasant and made for good company. We will certainly be back!
