A long-overdue review from our romantic getaway in March! I was certain I had already written a review—and taken more photos—but I must’ve been so swept away by the sheer luxury of our stay that I completely lost track. We stayed in the Sky Parlor room on the third floor, tucked away at the very top of the stairs. Our bed was incredibly comfortable, and we loved the peaceful privacy our room offered. What a wonderful house! We stayed just one night in the Blue Room on the second floor. Very comfortable and clean, with safe, off street parking. Ruth Ann and Bob were attentive hosts and had wonderful stories about the house and the town. We enjoyed an amazing breakfast with other guests before departing early. A great choice if you find yourself with out a room in nearby Lanesboro.
This BnB was incredible. We stayed here for our anniversary. Ruth Ann and Bob are inviting and fun hosts. We stayed in Anna's room which is gorgeous. There is so much history at the Oakenwald. Ruth Ann is so accommodating to dietary restrictions. Thank you so much for the time you took to make our stay wonderful! You made this first anniversary so special. Make sure you save time to enjoy your mornings at the breakfast. Bob's stories are incredible!! Also Ruth Ann's blueberry crisp is the best one I've ever had.

Great experience! From the tour of the house to the four course breakfasts, Ruth Ann & Bob were by far the best hosts we've had any any other B&B. The house has a lot of history and Bob was able to provide interesting insights given he grew up there. Be sure and visit surrounding cities (Lanesboro, Harmony, etc..) and visit some local Amish farms. Also loved the two local wineries including the largest one in MN (Four Daughters).
