No smells noted...no mold observed...no pests seen....no arguing/disgruntled speech at nursing station or in hallway by nursing staff. The person I saw was clean and appeared comfortable. Room clean. Bathroom clean. Not overcrowded with supplies or equioment. Even though the lunch was arrived in timely manner, it looked unpalatable: over cooked and old. That tray was sent back. Oak Park is a truly unique facility. I have never been someplace where staff care so much for the well being of residents— not just in terms of health, but in day-to-day quality of life. The sense of community provided by residents, families, and staff alike is incredible to see.
This place is horrible, the walls are covered in Mold, and are falling apart, the vending machines took my money three times, and I have still yet to get my money back. My mother had a fall recently, and they neglected to contact me, my mother had to contact me from the hospital, I am so full of rage about oak park, I just can’t imagine how any one could leave there loved ones in this facility, and when I tried talking to the administrator, she would not make the time to talk to me, she just blew me off. The workers here are rude. My mother asked about her medication that was given to her, and when asked about the medicine in the cup, the CMT told her, “ she don’t have time for all of that” and told my mom she needed to talk to her doctor about her meds , because. And when my mom was trying to tell that the medicine in the cup is different from what she takes at home. She then told my mother to take her medicine or not, it didn’t make a difference to her.
