Not sure how the better business bureau isn’t involved in this yet. I grabbed a case of this wood from the gas station up the block from my house last year. You know, the kind for family and friends on Christmas. It was so bad I actually returned it because it DIDNT BURN. I gave them a second chance tonight. Well fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
Grabbed two bags at the grocery store. This wood just does not burn. Its moisture content must be off the charts. We’ve grabbed all sorts of wood over the years from other businesses, and this is the first time I’ve ever had issues getting wood to stay lit. Even threw a log of it onto an already lit fire, and we watched the fire literally go around the wood for over an hour without it actually lighting. It’s amazing how bad this stuff is. What a waste of money that was.
Bought 30 bags, was surprised that I could not get my stove above 300, did some research to find out that they only cook the wood just enough to certify it " kiln dried" then I went back to where I bought wood before and was told "We cook it for 40 hrs" and yes I can get my stove to 300 with 2 pieces of wood. I have to say that oak mountain on grucci ln is a great operation which I was impressed.... but the moisture content of the wood is way to high
They consistently offer firewood at a fair price.
Trash wood... 1/2 moldy... doesn't burn -- not kiln dried... buyer beware...
