Came here on a bike trip a couple months ago. Place wreaked of cat urine and it was overcrowded with stuff. The beds were fine, but it was unsanitary. The “full English breakfast” was a stale eggo, a fruit parfait that was certainly not fresh, stale toast with butter, old pineapple, and a pastry that has been out on counter the night before. Should have camped.
My small group of bicycle tourists booked this B&B several months ago based on what looked like decent reviews. When we arrived last evening we were very dismayed to find the place in a severe state of disrepair. Rotting boards hanging from eaves, unkempt landscaping, bees coming and going from a gap over a window on the front porch. A few of us ventured inside to see if the rooms might be in a better state. The owner and the other people staying there are very nice. If you like fastidiousness however you may want to go elsewhere...
Please note that many of the reviews that have led this property to its 4+ star rating are from some years ago. This is a very concerning establishment. The house seems to be falling apart, and there is hoarding, sadly. There was a smell of cat urine. The owner did not provide a key or code to access the property independently of him, and the bedroom door did not have a lock on it.
