My son worked with Deirdre for many years and the support she gave him changed his life. Our experience began shortly after COVID when she was one of the few speech therapists who was working in person. He had a severe speech delay and stutter and today he has no recognizeable speech issues. Deirdre did an amazing job helping my four-year-old (three, at the time) son resolve his tongue-tie and improve his recovery and pronunciation after his frenectomy. Her evaluation was comprehensive, and she periodically assessed for progress. Her feedback and instructions were clear. Deirdre was patient and fun, which kept my son engaged and happy to work with her. Deirdre provided helpful referrals for dentists that used a CO2 laser to correct tongue-ties. My experience with NYC Speech-Language Pathologists and Deidre has been life changing. I'm an adult that suffered from a tongue tie that was never addressed when I was a child. The tongue tie was the source of not just speech and eating issues, but breathing was also severely impaired. Before my tongue tie release surgery, Deirdre increase my mouth and tongue mobility which facilitated the surgery. Post-op, Deirdre literally retrained me how to speak and eat.
