Recently, I tried to get an oil change and was told my drain plug was incorrectly forced into the oil pan and may not go back in once it was removed. I was very hesitant about having them remove the oil plug since it could result in having to purchase a new oil pan. The manager told me they would "try it anyway." They removed the plug and told me it could not be put back in. He said he could not let me leave this shop and I would have to have my car towed.
