I had a very disappointing experience with UVA Healthcare in Gainesville with Dr. Upasana Kocher and their billing department. I went in for a routine annual wellness visit, expecting a standard preventive check-up. During the appointment, I briefly mentioned a symptom I had noticed and simply asked if it could be related to any medical condition or if further testing might be needed. So since in the beggining i called and let them know that it was my first time going they ask for my name and insurance they made me wait for almost the appt time to tell me they cant accept me because i dont have a primary doctor with them. I go to my uva bullrun family medicine .
This staff is not personable at all. The nurse, Angela, talks to patients in an incredibly demeaning way. The office manager is definitely not a problem solver, rather escalates them. The receptionist do not know the office rules, so they misinform patients. If you go in for an annual physical, you will be charged an office visit because of the way the doctor codes the medical visit. I believe it’s morally wrong if you know the patient is only there for annual labs and comes in with no complaints to bill them as a sick visit... read more
I’ve started coming here in September and Dr. Kochhar is AMAZING. She is so helpful and treats me/talks to me like we’ve know each other for years. She makes me feel so comfortable and answers every question I have. The front desk (I’ve only spoke to the same person twice) is so genuine. I like to make appointments early in the morning and when I walk in to let them know I have arrived I get a polite and welcoming “Good Morning”. I love it here!
ER visit: When we want to get a child tested for something and we refuse another. The Nurse was starting to be hostile with me and I was really mad ?? because what he there to give quality care not start give me attitude .. I came in for strep test. I did not want a covid test. I did not have to go down the rabbit hole as to why. SINCE WHEN do we test for flue with a covid test. Also its my choice as parent to make that decision, when I had streep at inova they never tested me for covid why are you pushing it on parents also... read more
