We have had cakes from this location many times before, and it's always our go to for special occasions. We have never had an issue, but this time our cake was below par. My wife and I both noticed that it had a bit of a chemical taste, and that it was mostly on the bottom of the cake. I'm not sure if it was a result of the plastic container or something in the baking process. Maybe the cake was put into the plastic when it was too warm? This used to be a great place to order sweets from to send as a thank you to people doing a great job but apparently now they are staffed by millennials who cannot correctly take an order without putting you on hold 3 times, saying "gotcha" 25 times, and getting it wrong. Additionally their online portal is incapable of accepting an address so that the sweets are sent to the correct people in a business setting. I wasted 30 minutes dealing with both the mandarin and st. johns locations - don't waste your time.
