I booked an appointment with Dr. John Rice on 12/8 specifically for my annual physical exam, which is covered by my insurance. I clearly stated this when scheduling. After the visit, I was told I owe $400 because it was considered a first-time office visit simply because I had never seen this doctor before. This was never disclosed. This was my first experience with Norton Healthcare, and it has been awful. If seeing a new doctor means your annual exam will not be honored, patients should be clearly informed upfront. Literally holding my wife’s health hostage. Doesn’t do paperwork. Ignores my chart messages for days, even weeks. Still had never received a response even after multiple escalations. Schedules scan and then doesn’t cooperate with other offices so the scans are cancelled and pushed out another 3 months. Building a lawsuit. ***Update*** Norton commented with an email to resolve the situation and has yet to respond to my email. Can’t say I’m surprised. Followed up today and will leave another review if they do not respond.
A test I waited three months for was canceled because it had been ordered incorrectly, and when we tried to get it rescheduled, the Mid City Mall office claimed they hadn’t received communication from UofL — even though UofL showed multiple urgent, documented attempts they had made. Instead of taking responsibility for the paperwork error, the office manager, Talisa, kept blaming my insurance, even after both my insurance provider and UofL confirmed the issue was entirely due to the office submitting the order incorrectly.
