You'll see in the news that Northern Light and Anthem are engaged in a legal dispute. This office has notified its patients that even if Northern Light and Anthem resolve their dispute, extra "out-of-network" fees will be levied on local seniors (and possibly others) whose employers lock them into the Anthem network. This office has a HUGE problem with Anthem. Not Northern Light in general, just this particular office. They are trying to get their elderly patients to leave Anthem and sign up for some newfangled medicare advantage plan from the internet. When we make the phone calls to ask about this new plan, there's no one at the plan's office who can answer any question for at least a week. Was your PCP switched without your consent? If so, the problem now can be fixed but you'll have to call your insurance company. Might take a few hours of arguing with Anthem to fix the HUGE clerical error this office made. Has a request for medical records not been filled? The State, the military, and insurance companies are increasingly demanding copies of medical records and causing problems in your life when this doctor's office fails to have them delivered. Was your PCP switched without your consent? If so, the problem now can be fixed but you'll have to call your insurance company. Might take a few hours of arguing with Anthem to fix the HUGE clerical error this office made. Also, did your provider issue instructions to schedule a follow-up appointment? The scheduling staff might not know. They have a internal "note" system that failed on my last visit. It's different from the written "Instructions From Your Provider" on the visit summary sheet.
