About this business

We believe in fostering an environment where students not only learn martial arts, but they find a way of life. We believe in honesty, integrity and honor. We are part of a team with the common goal of dedication to mastery. All things begin and end with respect. We bow when we enter the dojo and when we leave. We bow to our training partners before we practice and after we practice. No one gets left behind. We make sure that everyone experiences success and finds themselves through the martial arts.

NWMA is a very unique place where you can learn/ experience various types of martial arts. (They teach several different martial arts including Karate and Aikijutsu, etc.) Students of any skill level are welcome to any classes there. It is great to focus on one specific Martial art and it is also very beneficial to learn other styles of martial arts to improve and perfect your own arts. The instructors in different styles of martial arts at NWMA work together and learn from each other. I believe that collaboration helps them... read more

NWMA is a fantastic place to learn a variety of martial arts. Highly skilled instructors and a very welcoming community. Multiple instructors have backgrounds in more than one combat art or sport, so they respect differences in technique and point out shared principles. Occasional cross-training nights are a fun way to interact with other disciplines.

I've trained with NWMA for about a year and a half, having begun with no martial arts experience. I'm constantly impressed by the "gentle but firm-relaxed yet true to tradition" approach of the instructors. It's apparent they draw from a wealth of knowledge, and their passion for what they teach is always evident. It has been a pleasure becoming apart of this community, and I hope to train here for many years to come.
