This movie house is more than a minimalist haven for the independent filmmaker. It is also a non-profit organization that is dedicated to inspiring, assisting and producing movies by up-and-coming directors. On a given week, you can watch films by local talent, or productions from across the globe: French, Chilean, Austrian, and more. Pre and Post-production workspace, rentals, and a film library consisting of over 1,000 motion pictures are also on-site. Please see their website for additional details.

Crappy hip place Useless and empty. Each staff member is convinced to be so hip and important that it gets on everybody's nerves. (nobody attends to their parties anymore). Part of the program are although excellent, other parts are just boring pseudo-hipster crap. The place lost its magic.
Yet another Seattle Hidden Gem The Northwest Film Forum has been doing more to raise its profile over the past year and I think they deserve all the support they can get. This is a great place to go to the movies! They layout is comfortable and the popcorn comes in bowls. The screens and projection system is professional as in any theatre but the movie choices are unique and fulfilling. As an example, in August they are showing a Werner Herzog festival which is a great chance to see more of this great director's movies. Nort... read more
Great Indie Films Northwest Film Forum isn't just an excellent independent movie house. It's also a fabulous benevolent organization that gives money to northwest filmmakers. They feature indie films from all over the globe in their cozy living room-sized theatres, and are homebase for the Seattle GLBT Film Festival. The staff is nice, the cause is good, the entertainment is tasteful and innovative. No complaints here.
If you love movies... No, I really mean love them, as only a true geek can, you must give your support to the Northwest Film Forum, Seattle's only true remaining cinemateque-type movie-going experince. Their new location on 12th is comfortable and their programming is wide-ranging and has something for every geek. Please go.
Quality Indie Films with A Livingroom Feel I love this place. Firstly, it's a new(2004)theatre that is in the Capitol Hill area. They mainly cover the indie, classics, documentaries, and foreign films. The theatre itself is quite small. Maybe 50 seats all together. It's like hanging at a friends livingroom...minus the talking, of course. The choices of films are dead on great in my book. I am very honoured to have this place so near to me. I hope it lasts for a very long time.
Jonah set me up with lights for a scene in amy dance film!
Just experienced the mesmerizing power that is SEANCES by Guy Maddin. Me and the ACT Theatre Marketing staff were part of the first public audience in this limited run of SEANCES which runs now through November 3rd. The NW FILM FORUM staff were great and provided great insights into Maddin’s work. GO CHECK IT OUT 👉🏾 SEANCES 📽🔮🙌🏾
