Northern Sky Lodge "I stayed at Northern Sky Lodge in Alaska, and it is truly the perfect spot for viewing the Northern Lights. You don't even have to drive anywhere to 'chase' them—the aurora appears right in front of the lodge! This saved me so much money on tours. The facilities are very well-organized. There are dedicated living and dining areas, and the kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of dishes and cookware. This cute lodge is situated outside ~30 miles outside of Fairbanks...an ideal place, away from city lights, for you to see the Northern Lights. It's basically a bed and breakfast with free continental breakfast every morning, but no restaurant on site. I highly recommend you go grocery shopping so that you can prepare meals for yourselves for your entire stay. Great Aurora experience we had. Our party of 7 just returned home from Northern Sky Lodge yesterday. This was a third stay within 7 years. Northern Lights were just beautiful. Thanks to the location of the lodge, we have not been bothered by any lights. It's a perfect location. The lodge itself is well cleaned and the service is always friendly you can stay very comfortable! We look forward to coming back again next year!
Had a great time. It’s very comfortable and the managers are extremely kind and fast to help; if you contact them for anything they respond right away and are very understanding! The view outside is beautiful and so are the rooms. It’s about 40 minutes away from Fairbanks, so if you need to uber you should keep in mind to schedule it in advance or you may not get one because of the seclusion.
