We loved our stay at the Northern Rail Traincar Inn! The rooms were spotless, cozy, and truly unique—such a fun experience staying in the refurbished train cars. The staff went above and beyond with their warm hospitality and made us feel right at home. A one-of-a-kind place that’s both clean and charming—I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

My wife and I just returned from our vacation to Minnesota’s North Shore. We stayed a total of four nights at Northern Rail Traincar Inn and found it to be a delightful, fun and unique lodging experience with lots of character. The owners/staff were friendly and had great communication with us. The inn was extremely clean and quiet with a great location. We will definitely stay there again!

Loved this inn! You’re literally staying in old box cars that have been converted to hotel rooms. I love the fact that it’s locally owned, and the people working there are also the people that own it. We had three adults and got the Victorian suite, which was two box cars. One had a king size bed, and the other had a living room with a Murphy bed in it. We had more than enough space, and were very comfortable. Can’t wait to stay here again!
