do not trap your kids here, i am an autistic individual who did the day treatment and the school-based therapy programs in seventh grade and it seriously messed me up. they kicked me out earlier this year because i was defending myself after the coordinator, Laurie, had gotten physical with me. i was trying to call my mom for help and she shoved me out of the way and ripped the phone right off the wall. i still have nightmares about it and the staff here seriously shouldn't work with kids

I went here in 06 and 07, this place messed me up. The state forced my parents to send me here because I was “depressed” and I was taken away from my friends in mainstream school. I fell so far behind in education and social skills it was hard to catch up. The other kids I went to school with at NETS were way more messed up than me and I feel like that had a negative impact on my self esteem, because I felt like I belonged with outcasts. My son was in day treatment, he says it has been the best so far. Even better than Praire care. Highly recommend NYFS for day treatment or plain therapy.
