$900 for 3 stitches and not even by an MD, but a nurse practitioner. They then refused to accept the contract price from my insurance company and turned it over to a collection agency before mediation was completed. Unless you have a life threatening injury,. avoid the ER like the plague.
over $600 paid to NE TN ER physicians to have 1 doctor come by and ask me how my pain was and 2 guys in their residency come down and fumble up the x-ray process and tell me they are going to talk to the "surgeon who was there". Amazingly he must have been a pretty difficult guy/gal to find because 5 hours later he still had not come by, but some redneck orderly stopped by and gave an unbelievably unsolicited diagnosis of the injury.
