Shiva Kumar needs to lose his pratice and license. I was his painted 11 years aho for 3 years and during his first hear he denied i was gay. That has caused 12 years of identity and mental health crisises i faced personally due to this decision. I no longer respect psychiatrist as docotrs because of this. Any demands of me calling psychiatrists doctors will be met with having them call me "great sage equal to heaven" since both titles are meanless for us.
This place is hell but I wouldn't be alive without it.
The doctors are very friendly but the secretary is so incredibly rude, I've gotten nothing but sarcasm from her and eye rolls, I've also seen her interact with two people in front of me the same way. If you come here watch out for the old, brown haired secretary with glasses. The last thing a office needs is a rude secretary which is the face of the office and the first person you greet.
Don't let the perfectly kempt gardens and grounds fool you; the inside of the building is absolutely not maintained at a proper health standard for the patients. For example, during my 8 days at Kirkwood the main shower for patients was not cleaned even a single time. The showers are covered in pink and black mold. On my last day there I cleaned the pink mold off myself as I could not leave allowing people to think this is what they deserve. Patients deserve a clean and dignified area to heal in. They never answer your phone calls or call you back and you gotta call everyday to try and book an appointment to just wait for ever to see your psych and get 0 help
