I came in for routine skin cancer exam. Normally it would be a $35 copay. This visit the charges came out to over $1600 without even addressing the actual reason I came in for. That lesion is still there. What I did get is pennies worth of N2 burns on my face for over $1000 total. I also got an unnecessary biopsy for a lesion on my arm that was healing nicely and almost gone. Another $369 and an open wound for three weeks. I was treated very kindly upon arriving, and the doctor was incredibly attentive and was a great teacher for me to understand my diagnosis. However, because I am a veteran, the practice needs to understand how to manage my account. The very next day after my visit, I was informed by the VA that this visit was not authorized and that the providers office Received notification that they would need to accept and re-authorize the visit. I am new to the area and found Northwest Derm through my primary care provider. Had a very stubborn planters wart and have had Basil Cell in the past. Worked with Dr. Anna Taylor and she is the absolute best! Kind, caring and knows her stuff. Entire office is a pleasure to work with.
