I don’t like to leave bad reviews for places, but this was honestly the worst meal that I’ve ever been served. I ordered the lunch lamb roast special. I asked for gravy on the side and this was confirmed by the server when we paid. The meal came out swimming in gravy. With this said, the staff were apologetic and were more than happy to bring a new meal out for me, which was appreciated. We stayed here just before Christmas and loved the place. We were in one of the rooms on the back of a truck (!) which was an experience. The rooms are not fancy, but are clean and well-maintained, and comfortable. The pub is very welcoming, and the owners and staff were lovely. It is a great place to hang out, and we enjoyed the meals we ate there. We used the hotel as a jumping off place to explore the Outback and wine country, and it is perfectly placed for that. Paul Handley Music - the Jester) I had the pleasure of playing my music show at the Hotel on the 18/12/2025. I had great fun and the Patrons were very friendly. The hotel was humming and everybody seemed to be enjoying themselves, dining, drinking and singing along. The evening was well attended and the food was great and very reasonably priced. Wonderful evening spent at the North Star Hotel. Friendly and personal service. Great range of drinks and meals. Nothing was too much trouble to accommodate our party of 8. Beautiful clean and welcoming pub. Amazing staff. Amazing meals(make sure you try the steaks).

So good walking in to an outback pub and the people behind the bar have smiles from ear to ear and are so welcoming. Drinks were cold on hot days, food filled the belly and pricing was great. Get here yourself and see what this family run pub is all about. 👏👏
