I came to NSAH the first time in the beginning of the year to get two tumors removed from my dog. one was removed successfully no issue. the other ended up being a cyst and the vet Dr Pittman recognized it IMMEDIATELY as being a cyst and treated it accordingly and didn't over charge me for a biopsy, because she was competent enough to know one was not needed. over all despite how expensive it was that was a positive experience. fast forward to June, I take my dog in to have two more suspicious spots looked at. BE VERY CAREFUL AND SKEPTICAL HERE.. As if vets these days hadn't jacked up their prices high enough already, the upsell process is alive and kicking really strong here. Took my 1-year-old puppy in to get a skin tag removed from his leg, according to them a simple procedure that cost $500 dollars. Several vets I took him to quoted the same price for the procedure. The owner/Dr has 20 minute appointments. He doesn't allow lunch on Saturdays. He treats the animals like it's a task and money. He doesn't even own any pets because it's too much work. There is no quality of care. The clinic is disgusting and your pets would get sick from cross contamination. He talks poorly about the clients and neglects the animals. Best care provided by a caring staff and Super Veterinarian. Always provide excellent care to my pets, and never rushes thru their exams, very thorough doctor. Highly recommend North Star Animal Hospital for anyone's pet.
I had previously written a negative review due to an experience I had with a rude receptionist here. On Sunday after church the owner and head veterinarian called us to resolve the issue and was very nice, courteous and respectful. He made amends to us and invited us back with assurance that it would not happen again. I was very pleased with him and I will definitely take my pet back to see them.
